Very rare banner, produced in 1896 to commemorate diplomatic exchanges in Kronshtadt and Toulon - both significant in forming the Franco-Russian Alliance. In order to improve relations between two countries, the French fleet visited the Russian naval base at Kronshtadt in 1891. Russian Imperator returned the gesture in 1893 and visited the French military port of Toulon. A commemorative flag was produced in 1893 to mark the occasion. Size: 80 cm. x 102 cm.
Very nice condition cotton made flag, showing the Imperial Russian eagle with some sort of mistakes on heraldic.
