any markings visible. Typical ww2 period made helmet with all parts original to
the shell. War time grass green color painted.
Steelhelmet, 1939 year issue, due frontal star on it. The year factory markings
are invisible, due of rust/ dirt inside. The helmet was used in the Finnish war,
due of winter use with winter hat, the liner was removed, then back restored at
the blockaded Leningrad in circa 1942 year for re-issue. Original paint (approx. 95%) and
early model painted Red Star are present. All helmets used during the Winter War were
modified to wear with a winter headgear instead of usual liner, so all the cotton
liners were removed in the army depot. Nice example of early model for very reasonable price!
Steelhelmet, 1939 year issue.
blockade Leningrad upgraded version. Re-issued after the Finnish-Russia Winter War
of 1939. It's a good presereved helmet from the outer side, but rusty inside, with just a parts form

War were modified to wear with a winter headgear instead of usual liner, so all
the liners were removed in the army
M39 Soviet helmet in untouched condition. Canvas
round liner is typical for early helmets. Has branch number and ink
stamps, but bad visible. For sure pre-war made example. Good completed
condition without damages. The helmet has interesting history. It was
found in Estonia hidden at the farm's attic some time ago. As you can see from
pictures there are 2 hand made engravings applied by nail or knife on the left
and on the right sides of the helmet. The first engraving is Estonian State
Emblem and on the other side we see stylized initials made in roman alphabet: A.H of the
last owner. But at the same time inside the helmet near the liner
you easy could read engraved russian name of helmet's first owner (in cyrillic alphabet):
KNYAZEV. We could suppose that the helmet was captured as a trophy
in summer 1941 by one local anti-communist national fighter who later
served in Self Defence Unit or as a Wehrmacht helper. Nice
item with spirit of war, unusual history, with interesting inscriptions and for
sure one of a kind!! Do not miss!!

This is a extremely rare
experimental Russian helmet. Pre WW2 Soviet Russian experimental M36 steel
helmet designed for heavy howitzer artillery, made by Izhora factory "Izhorskiy
zavod" in Leningrad, the factory name is "Izd 187/35". The helmets were
produced, then approved by Russian army, and were not
accepted. After that all helmets came back to the factory stock. In the Finnish
winter war 1939-40.y, they came to the army again and
were used in 4-th division of 168 high-power artillery
regiment(4 division 168 artilleriyskogo polka bolshoi
moshnosti) which was equipped with 203-mm howitzers. Some of this helmets were
found in the factory Nr 185 -
"Kirov's factory" (Russia),
the stock nr 3., a couple of year ago.
A very, very rare item for
only serious collectors!
