Description

German helmet M35 ET 68/3251 in winter camouflage, 233rd artillery regiment (combat against British troops in Norway in 1940 and later- Eastern front).  The helmet is signed: Nolte. FP 19336 A, respectively, Stab III. Abteilung 233 Art Rgt, headquarters of the 3rd Battalion of the 233rd artillery regiment of the Wehrmacht. Whitewash with traces of front-line use, with small scuffs and chips, which gives the helmet a lot of character. Underneath the paint, both decals are visible in their places, and under the white paint is a rough combat repaint of a dark field grey (Schiffergrau), applied with a brush. An anti-reflective layer of greyish varnish is applied over the white paint. Aluminum liner's ring with date 39, leather liner in size 61. The chin strap is dated 1941, most likely added later, although the matching short piece with an aluminum buckle has most likely been on this helmet from the beginning. The long part of the strap also corresponds to the condition of wear of the helmet.
