Description

Lower ranks salty Wehrmacht tunic M1941 with traces of a strong frontline life. There are factory or workshop wartime repairs, damage due of use on the lining and wool base of the tunic, some places with small holes due to wear and very minor moth damage. A decent size for a mannequin, approximately 48-50. The tunic is a late issue, approx 1942 year, there are characteristic details for late issued M42 tunics. It's interesting to know that almost all the buttons are originally sewn in with the exception of just one button on the lower right pocket, also the buttons under the collar are original to the tunic and not removed by the owner as usually seen on similar tunics. The breast eagle and collar tabs are original to the tunic, shoulder straps correspond to the overall condition, but were added later and they are not a pair. Shoulder straps with the rank of a candidate for an officer of the Pionier unit: Fahnenjunker- Offizieranwärter, Offiziernachwuchs. On the left sleeve, there is a trace from the gefreiter's sleeve chevron. In the second buttonhole, there is the Iron Cross ribbon and the medal "For the Eastern front campaign." There are also holes through the breast pocket (instead of the loops) for attaching awards to the left side of the chest. The tunic has a strong character, salty condition, worn by real combat soldier from the Eastern Front. Will easily fit into the display of an Ostront Kämpfert.
