Description

M 40 tropical tunic for Lieutenant of Geb Jag Rgt 91, served in the eastern front in the Taman- Crimea - Ukraine area. As known, in this area were a lot of tropical uniforms worn, due to very hot temperatures in summer period like in tropics. The tunic is in excellent, near mint condition and has some traces of wear on the neck and closure area. The tunic has some minor blood sprinkling on the left side area (sleeve and both pockets, even a sleeve shield under the 1942 digits), which could be cleaned by a wish. Officer's hand-embroidered insignia machine attached. Loops for the awards and WiO and EK II ribbons on the eyelet. The Krim shield modified with a piece of pea-green soviet uniform's cotton backing and most probably that is frontline made work. The tunic is marked by Brunn KG Mainz and depot (state property acceptance warehouse) marked F41 for Frankfurt. The tunic is in full length 73, sleeve length 64, the length to the waist from the neck 43, and, however, it's marked 92 cm breast. The current size is in around 96 and fits well 50th European size body. All the insignia and buttons are original to the tunic.  It still has its original belt support hooks. Only Edelweiss arm badge is missed, which has been roughly removed, remains of its cloth is still visible under the stitching.
