Description

Oberfeldwebel's of 227 Artillery Regiment Lightweight "Ostfront" tunic.  At the Eastern Front was some kind of front fashion to make lightweight tunics for hot summer regions from German or captured Soviet Russian tents. All these tunics were private purchased or made in the unit's tailor's workshop. Our tunic is a high quality tailor made example. Size is approximately 50, will fit the mannequin, but very tight. Some minor moth damage to the collar tabs and the eagle.  All insignia is original to the tunic as well as loops for awards on the pocket. The 227 Regiment fought mostly at the Wolchow Front, but some parts of the unit have been transferred to other units, which also fought in other areas of the Eastern Front. The unit has 15th companies equipped with self propelled guns. Very nice tunic with lot of character.
