Description

Salty Waffenrock with Kammerstempel and straps of 62 Inf Rgt. Very nice early example of parade infantry tunic with embroidered cyphers on the shoulderstraps designated for 62 Infantry Regiment. Inside of the tunic the lining has size markings and unit's markings  which show that the tunic has been marked in the depot of 1-st company of IR 62. The name tag shows the owner's name, rank and that the owner served in the signals platoon of the  first battalion. There is roman "I" marking, which is also shown on the shoulder strap button.  Opposite side shoulder strap's button is missed and replaced. The name tag has inscription : Schütze Bambl, Mar. Nachrichten Zug I/J.R. 62.  The tunic has several damage and period repairs.  62 Infantry regiment has taken a part in heavy battles at the Eastern front, close combats in Moscow area in 1941, Orel, Smolensk, Bryansk, and close combats at the Kursk battle.  Then returned back through Belorussia territory to Germany and the end of the war met in Danzig area.
