Description

SD Wehrmacht steel helmet m35 NS64/5861 complete. Helmet with shrapnel damage on the front. Three dents can be seen on the helmet itself, one shrapnel penetrating, the back of the liner's ring. Most likely, the owner was KIA, as the original inner ring with the leather part, was torn out, leaving only broken springs. The inner part of the liner, together with the leather, was reinstalled, along with the original ring and springs, and fully corresponds to the condition, time period, and type of the helmet. The outer part of the liner ring is dated 1940. On the leather part of the liner, there is a cord used instead of the original rope for piping the collar for Luftwaffe anti-aircraft artillery. The unmarked leather chinstrap also matches to the general condition of the helmet and has been installed postwar. The helmet is factory painted  with late type of paint (1940 pattern) for M35 models. Single decal helmet. On the decal and on the paint, there are traces of a rubber hoop used to fasten various camouflage materials. Helmet is in excellent condition
