SS-VT or early Waffen SS artillery visor hat, not a textbook example with 2 vent holes on it and that is normally seen on police hats. It’s not an example with replaced band. The visor hat has been never reassembled and there are no other traces from other insignia (holes trough cardboard base and etc.). Underneath of the sweatband is moth damaged and all of the stitching is in same condition as the cap itself. The fading is also correspond to the cap condition. The lower and top pipings are less bright than the central piping hidden by the crown of the hat. The hat has some damage on the liner and moth rips and nips overall the hat. The Overhoff CupAl skull and CupAl eagle marked 475/39 ( Ferdinand Wagner). Size marked 55 1/2. Most probably officer’s cord has been replaced, due the black band is wool made and that is usually was used on NCO’s hats.
