Description

Mid-war type of Wehrpass documentation book issued to Gottfried Auer born in 1898.

He was a veteran of the First World War and served in Infantry Regiment 84 in years 1916 - 1918. During the Second World War after mobilization in late August 1939 he became a member of motor unit Fahr. Kol. 1/522 and finally a member of anti-tank battalion 196.

Battles: Battle for Stalingrad in December 1942 trying to save 6th Army from the pocket, retreat from Don in 1943, fighting on the Eastern Front till 1945.

Got wounded in action in June 1944 and decorations received: Infantry Assault Badge, Wound Badge in black and both Iron Cross 2nd and 1st class.
