Description

Wehrmacht M36 infantryman’s tunic for Oberfeldwebel of 42nd Infantry Regiment. This early tunic is in excellent condition, made of early wool, with a dark green collar. There are only two small moth holes not bigger than match head and some traces of use.  The tunic was factory-altered to a smaller size; most likely, it was done due to its original too huge size (122 cm in the chest size ) and problem to find new owner for it. As seen from the photo, the previous size markings is closed over with ink stamp, and new size markings were added,  as well as on the left side there is a marking of the company which made that re-sizing. In our case it's Lago-Mü. Whereas the name of original manufacturer - Wilhelm Bleyle K.G. is on the right side. The stamp of acceptance of the state property warehouse/depot is M 39 - München. Early type shoulder straps, before1940 year issued with rank stars and ciphers made of cupronickel. 42 infantry regiment stationed in the city of Bayerut and during the war fought in Poland, France, Yugoslavia, then at the Eastern front: Crimea, the Caucasus, the Taman Peninsula, the Kuban, near Izyum and Dnepropetrovsk, as well as in Krivoy Rog.
